Lots of Fast (and Inspiring) Swims at the Jason Nessel Memorial LCM Meet!

Rahway River Park Pool was the site of New Jersey's Jason Nessel Memorial LCM meet on July 26, 2008. In addition to swimming some fast times and enjoying a beautiful summer morning with their fellow Masters swimmers , some members of the NJ LMSC were pleasantly surprised and honored to receive their Continuous Membership Recognition Program Awards. We congratulate each one of you on your commitment and support of USMS through your continuous membership with the NJ LMSC and we encourage the remaining award recipients to contact either Chris McGiffin (CMcGIFF@aol.com) or Susan Kirk (sqkirk@comcast.net) to arrange to pick up your well deserved awards. We hope to hear from you soon!

Attention all athletes 50 and over!  The NJ Senior Olympics will be held on September 13th and 14th at the Woodbridge YMCA/Community Center and will be a USMS "recognized" meet. The entry deadline has been extended to September 13, 2008.

New!  NJ LMSC Top Ten!

For each course each year, every LMSC must submit the times from meets held in their LMSC for consideration in the USMS Top Ten tabulation. Only swimmers registered in USMS can be considered.

The "Top Ten" listings for meets held in the NJ LMSC will be posted on this website. Please note that this does not include meets held outside of NJ, even if swimmers from NJ swam in them.

4/29/08 USMS has developed a new (smaller, but very attractive and easy to assemble) display to be used to generate interest in United States Masters Swimming at your facility.  Click on the picture below to see the display currently in use at the Sussex County YMCA in conjunction with their May 3rd mini meet. This display helped the Y generate interest and their meet entries have far exceeded their expectations.

To promote fitness and health in adults by offering and supporting Masters swimming programs.

 

Goals and Objectives

  • To encourage and promote improved physical fitness and health in adults.

  • To offer adults the opportunity to participate in a lifelong fitness and/or competitive swimming program.
